PLOT

Wicked – Part 2, directed by Jon M. Chu, concludes the untold story of the witches of Oz and picks up where it left off, following Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) after her rebellion against the tyrannical rule of the Wizard of Oz (Jeff Goldblum). Now demonized as the Wicked Witch of the West, Elphaba lives in exile in the forest, continuing her fight for the freedom of talking animals and desperately trying to reveal the truth about the Wizard.
Meanwhile, Glinda (Ariana Grande) has become the icon of goodness and hope throughout the kingdom, celebrated as Glinda the Good. She resides in the lavish palace of the Emerald City, under the influence of Madame Morrible (Michelle Yeoh), and is crowned a reassuring symbol of power. But behind the façade of fame, Glinda is deeply troubled by her conflict with Elphaba and seeks, in vain, to reconcile her with the Wizard.
At the same time, Glinda’s upcoming marriage to Prince Fiyero (Jonathan Bailey) turns into a spectacular political event, while new threats loom on the horizon: the lives of Boq (Ethan Slater), Fiyero, and Nessarose (Marissa Bode), Elphaba’s sister, are upended by the unexpected arrival of a girl from Kansas. When an angry mob rises against Elphaba, the two witches must face each other one last time. Only through courage, empathy, and acceptance of their complex friendship can they change not only themselves but the entire fate of Oz… forever.
