The Municipality of Forio is preparing to host the 45th Italian Inter-Highway Employees Cycling Championship. To ensure the races are held safely, Mayor Stanislao Verde signed Ordinance No. 99 regulating traffic and parking on May 19 and 23, 2026.

The island of Ischia will host the event from May 19 to 23. Two races are scheduled in Forio:

On May 19, the team time trial will start at 4:30 PM on a circuit between the intersection of Via Mons. Filippo Schioppa and Hotel Nettuno, to be completed four times.
On May 23, the individual time trial will take place along Via Giovanni Impagliazzo and Via P.L. D’Abundo up to the Ferrugine intersection, starting at 9:30 AM.
Measures for May 19

From 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM, a no-parking zone with vehicle removal enforcement will be in effect on the stretch between the Via E. Di Lustro/Via M.F. Schioppa intersection and the Via G. Genovino/Via G. Mazzella intersection near Hotel Nettuno.

From 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the same restriction will apply to Piazzale Cristoforo Colombo, which will be used for event logistics.

Traffic on the race route will be suspended starting 30 minutes before the race and until 2 hours after the “start of race” sign passes, for the time strictly necessary for the cyclists to transit. During the suspension, entering the route or crossing the road on foot or by car will be prohibited.

Measures for May 23

Similar restrictions will apply to the section within the Municipality of Forio — Via Giovanni Impagliazzo and Via P.L. D’Abundo up to the Ferrugine intersection — starting at 9:00 AM and lasting for 2 hours after the “start of race” sign passes, scheduled for 9:30 AM.

Vehicle and pedestrian traffic will be redirected along alternative routes indicated on site by the Municipal Police and Law Enforcement. The restrictions do not apply to emergency vehicles, police, fire services, or vehicles authorized by the event organizers.
