The orchestra is one of the most interesting youth ensembles on the Italian musical scene\, committed to celebrating the role of public e ducation as a space for artistic training\, personal development\, and cul tural sharing.\nThe Carlo Tenca State High School in Milan\, an institutio n with more than a century of history and home since 2010 to one of Italy' s leading music high schools\, involves around 200 students in the study o f music alongside their academic education.\nFounded in 2021 from the desi re to rediscover the joy of making music together after the years of the p andemic\, the Symphony Orchestra now brings together around 70 young music ians from all year groups and with varying levels of experience. The proje ct was conceived first and foremost as an educational workshop: a year-lon g journey in which students develop both as musicians and as individuals\, guided by a team of teachers who design a learning path tailored to the a bilities and potential of each participant.\nThe orchestra's particularly diverse instrumentation requires constant work in adaptation and arrangeme nt\, aimed at highlighting the unique tonal qualities of every instrument while ensuring that each musician plays a meaningful role. The results ach ieved reflect the success of this educational approach: the orchestra won the First Absolute Prize and the award for Best Orchestra at the 12th Inte rnational Competition 'Città di Palmanova' – UNESCO Prize 2024\, in additi on to receiving further recognition at the 'Scuole in Musica' National Com petition in Verona.\nThe programme selected for the concert at La Mortella Gardens will take the audience on a journey through cinema\, literature\, and imagination. Opening the evening will be H.O.L.S.T. – Harmony of Ligh t\, Space and Time\, a lyrical-symphonic suite inspired by three major wor ks of Gustav Holst: Beni Mora\, the Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda\, and t he celebrated orchestral cycle The Planets. Through a blend of Eastern\, s piritual\, and cosmic influences\, the work introduces audiences to the En glish composer's musical universe\, reflecting his fascination with differ ent cultures\, mythology\, and the boundless realms of human imagination.
