PLOT

Disclosure Day, a film directed by Steven Spielberg, is set in the present day, in a world plunged into chaos and on the brink of World War III. Daniel Kellner (Josh O'Connor) goes on the run after stealing classified materials from the ultra-secret government agency he works for. The documents reveal a shocking truth about extraterrestrials—a secret that the U.S. government has concealed for nearly eight decades.
While his girlfriend Jane (Eve Hewson) fears that exposing the truth could push the world into irreversible panic, Daniel attempts to reach his mentor Hugo (Colman Domingo). At the same time, he is pursued by a group of “Men in Black” led by the relentless Noah Scanlon (Colin Firth), the head of the very agency Daniel once served.
Meanwhile, in Kansas City, Margaret Fairchild (Emily Blunt), a meteorologist with ambitions of becoming a television presenter on a local news channel, begins to display inexplicable abilities: she can speak unknown languages fluently and read people's thoughts. Driven by a mysterious higher force, Margaret sets out on a journey in search of Daniel.
The film confronts us with an existential dilemma: if we were to discover that we are not alone in the universe and someone were to prove it to us, how would we react? Would we be afraid? There is no single answer—there are eight billion of them. The day of revelation may be closer than we think, and the film offers a glimpse into our possible near future.
