ST. ANNA MASS AND THE TRADITIONAL PROCESSION OF EXPECTANT MOTHERS BY SEA ALSO POSTPONED
Due to adverse sea weather conditions, the St. Anna Mass for Life and the traditional procession of expectant mothers by sea, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 25, have also been postponed.
The new date is Thursday, July 30, at 7:30 PM, at the Church of St. Anna in Cartaromana Bay.
The Mass will be celebrated by the newly ordained priest, Father Marco Etiope.
At the end of the celebration, there will be the Act of Entrustment of Expectant Mothers and "Workers for Life."
The free boat shuttle service from the Piazzale delle Alghe slipway will remain available, as will access by land via Via Nuova Cartaromana and the Michelangelo Tower.

At 7:00 PM, one of the most heartfelt moments of the Sant’Anna 2026 celebrations returns: the Mass for Expectant Mothers. This religious ceremony dedicated to new and expectant mothers will take place in the evocative little church among the rocks of Sant’Anna, in the bay of Cartaromana.

The Holy Mass will be celebrated by Don Pasquale Trani, parish priest of the Church of Santa Maria Assunta in Ischia Ponte. The boat procession will depart from Piazzale delle Alghe, carrying the community’s devotion out onto the sea.

A moment of faith and tradition that connects the people of Ischia Ponte with their history and with the sea that surrounds them.
