Beppe is a taciturn plumber who still lives with his mother and has never fallen in love. Umberto is a failed former musician who ruined the family business and has two failed marriages behind him. Finally, there’s Gigi, who has just been excluded from his elderly aunt’s will. The three are preparing to welcome Toni, Umberto’s son, to celebrate his return to freedom—an occasion that feels more like a truce than a party. Toni is sharp—perhaps too sharp—and has always lived on the edge of legality, going in and out of prison repeatedly.
Together, they form an unlikely group, stuck in a corner of the provinces, suspended in time, with a calm lake in the background. But something is about to crack this apparent tranquility. One night, after drinking too much at the village bar, the four get into a car. The journey home takes an unexpected turn when they accidentally hit a body lying on the road. Panicked, they choose to flee and take refuge at Umberto’s house.
Thus begins a long and surreal night, filled with twists, borderline-absurd situations, and the appearance of eccentric characters. Tension rises and the already fragile balance among the protagonists is put to the test. From that moment on, the masks begin to fall—leading to an unpredictable ending…
