PLOT
Paolo Marra (Leonardo Lidi) has killed his wife. With no apparent reason and consumed by guilt, he decides to turn himself in. He wants to pay for what he has done, serve his sentence and restore dignity to the woman he killed and, perhaps, to himself as well.
But what should be a simple and definitive act turns into a terrible and surreal ordeal. Between distracted police officers, overzealous lawyers, fortune tellers and tangled bureaucratic red tape, no one seems willing to take his intentions seriously. Paolo thus finds himself trapped in a Kafkaesque paradox. He has confessed to a murder and wants to be arrested, but he cannot, in any way, manage to get himself taken into custody.
As he desperately tries to atone for his guilt, Paolo becomes the perfect scapegoat of a grotesque and paradoxical society, capable of ignoring even someone who is asking to be punished and desperately wants to redeem himself.
