Saturday, January 31, at 5:00 PM, at the “Antonio Pagano” Hall of the Diocesan Museum of Ischia, in the Borgo of Ischia Ponte, the presentation of the book Il Ricettario di Nonna Titta by Valerio D’Ambra, published by Graus Edizioni, will take place.

The event is held under the patronage of the Isola d’Ischia Study Center and Pro Loco Pithecusae, and is supported by the Historic Boccia Bakery of Ischia Ponte, Food&Bar Monzù, and Studio Montitri.

The book is born as an act of love by the author toward his grandmother, Annunziata Scotto di Minico, known to everyone as Nunziatina di Boccia, born in Ischia in 1936 and wife of Antonio D’Ambra of the historic Boccia Bakery of Ischia Ponte. Through her recipes and stories, the book offers readers a heritage of knowledge, aromas, and traditions tied to Ischian home cooking.

Il Ricettario di Nonna Titta is not just a cookbook, but an editorial project that combines emotional memory with cultural identity. The recipes, narrated directly by Annunziata, are carefully curated and accompanied by photographs by Valerio D’Ambra, who is also the author of the texts that weave together cuisine, family memories, and popular history. The aim is to recover and enhance the island’s collective memory, giving cultural dignity to everyday gestures and traditional flavors.

During the event, the story of Nonna Titta will be shared, accompanied by the reading of selected recipes from the book and a theatrical interpretation of her personal and family life.

The presentation will be introduced by Dr. Francesco Mattera, President of the Isola d’Ischia Study Center.

Speakers:

  • Prof. Lucia Cuomo, Literature Teacher

  • Raffaele Marino, Actor and Director

Moderator:
Dr. Graziano Petrucci, President of Pro Loco Pithecusae

At the end of the presentation, there will be a book signing with the author and a tasting of one of the recipes prepared by Annunziata, the protagonist of the book.

The event is open to the public and is aimed at the residents of Ischia, families, and tourists interested in the gastronomic culture and traditions of the island.
