PARENT–CHILD THEATRE WORKSHOP

PARENT–CHILD THEATRE WORKSHOP

From Thu 26 March Ore 16:30 until Ore 18:30

The Diocesan Caritas of Ischia, in collaboration with Senso Inverso Teatro APS, presents the new workshop program “Parents & Children – On Stage Together: Growing, Understanding, Recognizing Each Other,” designed and led by Milena Cassano.

This is an innovative project that combines theatre, drama therapy, and theatre pedagogy to create an authentic space for connection between parents and children, with particular attention to the delicate phase of adolescence, while also being open to younger children.

At a time when family communication is often fragmented and fast-paced, the workshop was created with the aim of restoring value to relationships, offering a safe space to pause, listen, and truly see one another. Through the language of theatre, parents and children will have the opportunity to step into each other’s shoes, improve communication, and strengthen their emotional bond.

The program, held monthly and free of charge, includes intensive sessions lasting 2–3 hours. These will feature theatre games, improvisation, body and voice exercises, dramatization, and shared storytelling, alongside moments of circle time, listening, dialogue, and guided discussion.

Special attention will be given to the expression of emotions, even the most difficult or unresolved ones, which can emerge in a symbolic and non-judgmental way. Theatre thus becomes a powerful tool for embracing imperfections, fostering connection, and building a more authentic relationship.

Alongside theatrical activities, the workshop also includes creative and engaging experiences such as:
• creative writing and emotional storytelling
• drawing and visual creation activities
• guided inner journeys through imagination and body work

These practices help create a climate of trust and belonging, transforming the group into a true community where each family can feel welcomed and part of a shared journey.

The project is part of a broader vision of theatre as a social and educational tool, capable of improving relationships, preventing discomfort, and promoting individual and collective well-being.
